Bubble Gang director says gag show isn't signing off; Ricky Lo admits blind item "turned out to be a dud"

Bubble Gang director Uro dela Cruz denied speculation that the long-running GMA-7 gag show is ending soon, reports PEP.ph. "Marami pa kaming celebration na pinaplano (We still have a lot in store for viewers)."
The issue stemmed from a blind item by Ricky Lo who said a 15-year-old show will soon "burst like a bubble." Some netizens and Yahoo Southeast Asia writer Ed Sicam speculated that Lo was referring to Bubble Gang.

In his Philippine Star column today, Lo admitted that the blind item clue "pointed to Bubble Gang" and "turned out to be kuryente (a dud)." He quipped, "I have already consigned the Funfare DPA (Deep Penetration Agent) who texted me that 'hot' news to a soundproof isolated room with no contact to the outside world. For one week lang naman (Just for one week)."

Lo quoted what GMA executive Wilma Galvante told him: "Where did you get that news? It certainly is not true. In fact, we even re-programmed our Friday-night viewing so that Bubble Gang will come in earlier. Bubble Gang is one of the flagship programs of GMA-7 and it is still going strong."
